A student credit card is a very important asset of a student's life as it is considered one of the best credit cards for students. A high school student or a college going student can both apply for student credit cards. Students with the help of student credit cards can efficiently meet their day to day expenses such buying text books, paying college fees, etc. A student credit card is certainly a blessing in disguise for cash -strapped students.

There are many banks and credit companies who are targeting the students for selling their college student credit cards. The one and only motive of these companies is to earn profit. These companies can go any length in providing the students with the different variety of credit cards. They can visit the student's campus for approaching the students or they can make endless amount of calls on their phones. Therefore, students must have a thorough knowledge about the every aspect related to credit cards otherwise they will fall into the debt trap from which is very much difficult to come out successfully.

Thus, the students applying for credit cards must always go for best rate credit cards.

Annual Percentage Rate (APR)

The students applying for the student credit cards must foresee the rate of APR provided to them by the bank or credit card companies. The cards containing lowest APR credit rates will not be able earn any reward points. Some of the banks or credit card companies mislead the students by claiming to provide zero APR credit cards. Those students who fall in their trap end up paying hefty interest rates in the event of any late payment.

Other Fees

The students must always inquire if the student credit card includes any kind of hidden fees such as accounts maintenance fees. The no annual fee student credit card is considered good credit card for the students. They must gain a complete knowledge of fee structure of the charges applicable on using the student credit card.

Cosigner Requirement

The students before obtaining a student credit card must see whether there is a requirement of a cosigner or not. The student's parents, friends, etc can act as a cosigner. Usually, a cosigner is not required for obtaining a student credit card but if the bank asks to do so then the students have to present the cosigner so that they do not have any bottlenecks in acquiring the student credit cards.

Reward Points

One of the significant benefit of student credit cards are that it provides a reward if the students use their cards wisely. The students can get cash back on every purchases made by them at gas filling stations, supermarkets, etc. If the students find an excellent card that does not have reward points then they must not take it. However, if they happen to get one with reward points then they immediately acquire it.
